What Fluids In Your Car You Should Keep An Eye On

Many of us never think about the thousands of components in our vehicles, and how they’re each necessary for the welfare of our trucks, SUVs, big rigs, and other wheeled motor vehicles.

Just because they don’t often come to mind, however, doesn’t undermine their true necessity. Without these many fluids, our vehicles would be proverbial toast. Here’s some valuable info about a few of them.

  • Brake fluid relies on its hydraulic properties to transmit inputs from your brake pedal to the actual brake calipers. Check it monthly, and replace it every few years.
  • Oil, its full name engine oil, can be checked using the dipstick affixed to the engine. It’s important to keep oil at a sufficient level and change it every 5,000 miles driven.
  • Check radiator fluid, in the radiator fan, as the seasons change. It cools the engine down.
