The San Antonio, Texas Toyota truck facility started up production of the Tundra for the first time back in 2006. Now seven years later, the automaker celebrated the completion of its one-millionth vehicle. This is quite the accomplishment to achieve and shows that hard work definitely does pay off.

Chris Nielson, president of Toyota Texas, reflects on this milestone explaining, "We are grateful for our loyal customers across North America who tell us they love driving Texas-built Tacomas and Tundras. It makes me incredibly proud of our team members and 21 on-site suppliers every time I see one of our trucks on the road knowing that safety and quality are built into every one of them."1

As for the one-millionth vehicle that had the honor of rolling off the assembly line, it just happened to be a Sunset Bronze Mica colored 2014 Tundra 1974 Edition pickup. If you are curious about where the 1794 originates from, this special model was designed to commemorate the ranch that was founded where the plant is now located.

While the Toyota Tundra was once the only pickup being produced at the facility, in 2010 production began for the Tacoma as well. This fall the facility is also celebrating its 10 year anniversary of when it first broke ground.
