This year's Frankfurt Motor Show is bringing us quite a few impressive new models. One in particular that recently debuted was the Toyota Hybrid-R Concept. Described as being a speedier and sportier version of the regular Yaris, its stylish body lines certainly earned it some attention.

Under its hood the hybrid sports a 1.6-liter petrol engine that can crank out 300 horsepower, coupled with 2 electric motors that contribute a total of 120 hp. That's right readers, this Yaris was designed to generate an impressive 420 horsepower!

In terms of its design, a lot of the inspiration was drawn from the Toyota Le Mans racecars, particularly the TS030 hybrid, as it was created by the Toyota Motorsports team. This is why many of the parts look as though they came straight off of a racecar. When looking at photos, our eyes are immediately drawn to the model's angular enlarged grill and front fascia design. The combo of a white exterior with vibrant blue accents is a nice touch as well.

Another unique element that the hybrid features, is an energy conserving supercapacitor. When the vehicle is breaking, it enables energy to be stored for later usage. This increases its over efficiency, making its performance that much more impressive.

As for the future of the Toyota Yaris Hybrid R, the automaker hasn't confirmed whether or not it will make its way to production. With its combination of style and power, here at Lithia Toyota of Missoula we certainly have our fingers crossed that it will.
