There's no debating the 2016 Toyota 4Runner's off-road capabilities. Part traditional SUV, part modern family vehicle, the 4Runner boasts both the ability to tackle tough terrain as well as the composure and control to comfort passengers on pavement.
Part of its talent is due to its body-on-frame construction, available Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System, high ride height and locking rear differential but the other part is from its strong engine. The 2016 4Runner is powered by a 4.0-liter V6 engine, capable of producing up to 270 horsepower and 278 pound-feet of torque, and it's paired with a smooth-shifting five-speed automatic, either rear-wheel or four-wheel drive and a lightweight construction for ideal off-road maneuverability.
