You might think a truck with a million miles on the odometer would be
- A million years old
- Have none of its original parts left
- Completely worthless
But you'd be wrong on all counts! Toyota owner Victor Sheppard of Louisiana racked up over a million miles in nine years on his 2007 Toyota Tundra, driving an average of 125,000 miles each year.
The miracle-machine still has the original engine, transmission, and paint job that it rolled off the assembly line with at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Texas. In fact, most of its parts are original, with only routine maintenance work and minor repairs being performed over the years, including oil changes, replaced timing belts, and who-knows-how-many tires.
As for value, well... Toyota models are renowned for holding their value into higher mileage, but this particular high-mileage Tundra was worth a brand-new truck!
"Having a million-mile truck in as pristine condition as this one with original parts is a truly rare find," said Chief Truck Engineer, Mike Sweers, who wanted it badly enough to give Sheppard the best trade-in bargain ever offered. "Our team plans to tear down the entire truck, bumper-to-bumper, top-to-bottom to evaluate how the quality and safety we designed, engineered and built into the Tundra has held up to over one-million miles of real-world driving and help us continue providing ever-better vehicles for our customers."
Regular service and repairs helped keep Victor Sheppard's truck on the road for longer than anyone thought possible. Visit Lithia Toyota of Missoula to see what we can do for the longevity of your pickup!
